Supporting You, Step by Step
I’m Didem Koc, a pre-licensed therapist at Fountaingate Wellness and the founder of the Mokita Project. Originally from Turkey, I moved to the United States. Having experienced the challenges of starting over in a new country, I understand firsthand the barriers that many face in accessing support—whether due to financial hardship, language, or cultural stigmas.
My advanced training in Existential Counseling centers on exploring how you experience emotions and respond to life’s unique difficulties. Our focus in therapy will be on accepting and understanding your feelings, rather than trying to change or suppress them. As your therapist, I aim to help you find meaning in your current circumstances, exploring insights without judgment or labels.
A significant part of my clinical practice involves supporting individuals from marginalized communities, helping them explore and understand the complex interplay of emotions within their minds and bodies. As a trauma-focused clinician, I aim to help individuals activate their compassion and heal from wounds often buried beneath self-blame and shame.
As a bilingual counselor, I strive to offer an inclusive space that honors the intersectionality of your identity and experiences. With a Master’s degree in Existential Phenomenological Psychology from Seattle University, my approach is rooted in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to social justice, ensuring that all clients feel seen, heard, and respected in their therapeutic journey.
Additionally, I offer pro-bono therapy sessions for students and individuals experiencing financial hardship. If you’re interested in learning more about my availability or sliding-scale options, please reach out by scheduling a consultation session.
M.A. (Existential Phenomenology) Psychology, Seattle University
NeuroFeedback Therapy Certified Provider
Trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples Counseling under Supervision
My approach to therapy is grounded in Existential Phenomenology, which emphasizes the exploration of your unique experience of life and emotions. I believe that every individual has the ability to find meaning in their circumstances, even in the face of life’s most challenging moments. Rather than focusing on changing or suppressing emotions, I work with you to understand and accept them. This approach allows us to explore the insights your emotions offer, creating a space for growth without judgment or labels.
In therapy, I aim to honor the whole person—their past, present, and the complex ways their identity shapes how they experience the world. My work is particularly focused on supporting individuals from marginalized communities, those navigating trauma, self-blame, and societal challenges. I strive to create a compassionate, inclusive, and culturally sensitive space where we can explore the interplay of your emotions, experiences, and identity, fostering healing and self-compassion.
I am committed to understanding the nuances of your lived experience and integrating cultural sensitivity into our work. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, with you at the center, actively participating in your journey toward clarity, healing, and empowerment.
Ultimately, my role is to help you navigate the complexities of life with a greater sense of meaning, self-acceptance, and resilience, using the insights from Existential Phenomenology to guide the way.

I provide individual and couples counseling for adults aged 18 and older, with a strong focus on integrating a social justice framework and cultural humility into our work together. I also work with adolescents aged 13 and older in individual therapy, offering a space that values and respects each person’s identity and lived experiences:
Individual therapy provides a confidential and non-judgmental space for self-exploration. Together, we’ll work to better understand your emotions, patterns, and struggles. Using an existential and trauma-informed approach, I help you gain insight into your thoughts and behaviors, with the aim of fostering personal growth, healing, and meaningful change.
In individual therapy, we will work on:

- Exploring emotional patterns and past experiences
- Managing anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges
- Finding purpose and meaning in life’s struggles
- Healing from trauma and emotional wounds
Relationships can be a source of deep fulfillment but can also present significant challenges. In couples therapy, I help partners improve communication, resolve conflicts, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. My approach integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which focuses on strengthening emotional bonds and creating a safe space for vulnerability.
In couples therapy, we will work on:
- Improving communication and understanding
- Addressing conflicts and disagreements
- Rebuilding trust and intimacy
- Managing relationship stress and anxiety
- Supporting both partners in their individual and shared growth
I also offer individual therapy for adolescents (ages 13 and up) who are navigating the complexities of adolescence. My approach respects the unique identity and lived experience of each adolescent while helping them manage stress, anxiety, and any challenges related to mental health. Whether it’s dealing with school, relationships, family dynamics, or self-esteem, therapy provides a valuable tool for personal growth.
In adolescent therapy, we focus on:
